HIGH QUALITY, NOT EXACTLY AS ADVERTISED

Let me get the negative out of the way. It is 9" wide vs 11" as advertised. Otherwise, excellent scarf. Great colors and weight. Very smooth for wool, almost seems like acrylic. It isn't "fuzzy" as a lot of wool scarves are. If you wear this one as a single layer rather then folded in half lengthwise it will work fine. (Steve, thanks for noticing the dimensions were off. We've made the change to the website. John)
very good quality

Matched my wife's blue Ramsay ancient kilted skirt and my tie very well.

This scarf exceeded my highest of expectations. It is woven out of fine grade wool and accentuates my clan tartan very well. I couldn't be more pleased with the quality and look of my new scarf.

I was delighted when I received my tartan scarf. The wool is obviously the best quality and smooth to the touch. I have several wool scarves that have a furry quality and cause my skin to itch...so they aren't worn. I am happy to give this scarf a thumbs up with the highest mark!

The Ferguson plaid scarf is beautiful. The colors are lovely. It is a good weight and has a nice drape. I will be using it to decorate my author table at my Book Launch Event in August, and at future book events as well. The Scottish hero of my historical suspense romance novel, "The Lady's Desire," is William Ferguson !!!
they took my review down!!! (No we didn't!)

So here is the deal. I bought a scarf. Is not a very good scarf. It's too short by at least one foot and too thin by at least half it's width. The cloth used is not very smooth on your neck either. But I loved that it was my tartan and the colors were great. I wrote a review before saying as much giving it two stars. I was contacted by Higgins saying they were sorry that I was not happy with my purchase and offered me some options to help with the situation. I was a work at the time of the call though and could not talk. I was moved however by how great the customer service was. I come on to the website to up my rating in light of the great customer service, only to find that they removed my review! Unacceptable! The point of customer reviewers is so that other customers can see how people liked it didn't like that product. It's is underhanded to remove a review. In light of that I changed my review to one start when I came here with the intention of upping my initial review. For shame. John's reply: Hey Michael, I didn't take it down. It wasn't put up. Actually nothing has been done with the review. The reason for this is because I personally called you, the moment I read your review, to say you most certainly could return the scarf if you were not happy with it, and your reply was that you were busy at work, and you asked if you could call me back. That is how I thought we left it until I saw this review. So, I am most certainly going to email you to let you know this reply is now up on our website for you and all our customers to read. I am happy to reply that we stand behind our products and that this scarf is completely returnable. I will mention, for the record, that the dimensions were indeed clearly stated on the website when you ordered the scarf. During our short telephone conversation, I mentioned that the sash, which measures 11x90", might be more suited to what you were looking for, but that would be the only other option other than the 54" scarf. You failed to mention that point in this review. You also failed to mention that you said you would call me back to discuss it when you had a moment, and that was how we left it, until I read this review. I didn't post the original review from the other day, nor did I remove the review, as I was waiting for your return call. I felt it would be appropriate to reply to this email on our website for two reasons: 1) By all means you should get the scarf you want, and if the Lochcarron scarf isn't to your liking, it is completely returnable, which I mentioned during our phone call. I will respectfully suggest to you that, perhaps, you overlooked the dimensions we list for this on our website when you placed your order, and 2) I was under the impression you were going to call me back, but after reading this, I feel it is necessary to reply to you the moment I read this, this time not via phone, as I want to make sure that our other customers see that we do reply to our customers with the quickest, clearest response. That's the way it's been since 1983. If you have any questions, feel free to call me on my direct line at 913-894-0217 or email me at email@example.com . If I happen to be on a call, please leave your name and number and I will be certain to return your call. Thanks for sharing your review with our customers and me. I'm sure it will be received in the manner intended, and will aid our customers in their consideration of our offerings. I will close by, again, offering to take back the scarf and refunding your money. All the best to you. John Higgins

Product good but need more tartan selection. Or at least have the option to special order this scarf in tartans that are not stocked, even if more expensive.
