Quieter and easier to play

I have switched from another brand of Practice Chanter Reed to the Warnock. It is quieter and easier to blow, which greatly increases practice time.

very good reed. not as clear and robust sounding as an abbott but it is still really good.
use these any time a new chanter is bought

Use these for new chanters! This reed works first time every time. Might as well plan on replacing the stock reed that is usually trash.

Here's some good advice: Don't go to try and modify your reeds without, A). knowing what the heck you're doing. And, B). Without a backup reed in case you absolutely ruin it like I did.
John Higgins (proprietor) has always exceeded my expectations with quality, service, and more importantly recently, shipping.
I had a piping lesson less than a week after I screwed up my reed and John shipped it to me in like two days or so.
You'll find that everything that he sells he endorses. Which means that the two reed options that I had mad my life very simple and I could rest assured that I didn't have a 50/50 chance at picking a "good one", I had a 100% chance of picking both great quality products. I couldn't mess up if I tried!
John saved my butt!
Thanks John and unending appreciation!!!

i purchased the Warnock reed after reading about the sound and great quality that has been reported with its use. I can attest that all that is true, the sound right away was crisp and consistent, and the quality of the reed itself seems like it will last the test of time. I recommend this product to anyone looking for good quality reeds.
Thought I’d give this a try

I’m well pleased with the nice tone of this reed in my long practice chanter. It came nicely packaged in a small box inside my shipment and was well worth the price as I’ve had many reeds last for years.

The Frazer Warnock red blade practice chanter reed plays easy and sounds good every time, straight out of the box. There are cheaper reeds out there, but you get what you pay for.
Nice beginner reed

This is a perfectly fine read for a beginner, in fact many people, with a lot more experience than I have, seem to think it sets the standard. I can only say that while it is one of the reeds I now and then swap out to practice with, I'm slightly more partial to my Ezeedrone and Walsh PC reeds. So, for me, if those two were 5, this would even be above 4 at 4.8
Still, for playability and amount of breath control that it takes, I put this reed in the same class as Ezeedrone, Walsh and G1. YMMV.
My PC is the Dunbar Millennium 2000 AKA Dunbar long.
