Product Description
Our 100% wool black J. Higgins daywear argyle kilt jacket features silver square rampant lion buttons, one outer left chest pocket, two lower body pockets, and two inside chest pockets. We recommend pushing these tricky square buttons through the buttonholes via their side first rather than the pointed tip. Our black jackets are usually in stock and ready for immediate shipment. We craft these in even sizes 32 to 60 in short (5'9" & under), regular (5'10'' to 6'0''), long (6'1" to 6'2"), and extra-long (6'3" & up). Made by our talented staff right here in Kansas City. Exchangeable and returnable if the first size doesn't fit.

As a general guide, we suggest the following size per weight range. Size 32 (130-140lbs), Size 34 (141-150lbs), Size 36 (151-160lbs), Size 38(161-170lbs), Size 40 (171-180lbs), Size 42 (181-190lbs), Size 44 (191-200lbs), Size 46 (201-210lbs), Size 48 (211-220lbs), Size 50 (221-230lbs), Size 52 (231-240lbs), Size 54 (241-250lbs), Size 56 (251-260lbs), Size 58 (261-270lbs), Size 60 (271lbs & up)
Here are the chest and waist sizing for each size. Generally speaking the waist will be 4" smaller than the chest. If your waist measurement is bigger than the chest size, then go up to the size that will fit the waist: Chest size 32 has 29 waist, chest size 34 has 30 waist, chest size 36 has 32 waist, chest size 38 has 34 waist, chest size 40 has 36 waist, chest size 42 has 38 waist, chest size 44 has 40 waist, chest size 46 has 42 waist, chest size 48 has 44 waist, chest size 50 has 46 waist, chest size 52 has 48 waist, chest size 54 has 50 waist, chest size 56 has 52 waist, chest size 58 has 54 waist, chest size 60 has 56 waist.

Very well made kilt jacket

This is a great kilt jacket and very well made. Overall the fit at the chest and sleeves is spot on. The waist (on me), however, is quite "generous." I may decide to have it taken in (at least 2"), but for now it will serve me well.

I first made mistake and ordered a jacket from elsewhere. Had to return theirs. Quality of the cloth really matters. JH is the best you can look to buy here in USA. Don't make mistakes and waste weeks with someone else. They additionally made it a rush order to help me have it for a pipe job. Thank you

Great Material, Great Fit

Formal Jackets never fit me. I always need some extensive tailoring, and this jacket fit me right away. I never thought I could get something online that fit, but color me wrong. I'm delighted with the material and fit.
I deducted a star because the quality of the shiny bits are lacking. It's a great jacket, and the shiny bits are easy to replace when you'll need to. -
Lightweight Argyle jacket

I was in need of a lightweight Argyle day jacket. The weather is just too hot her in southeastern Virginia to be wearing a normal weight wool argyle. A few years ago, I ordered the lightweight Prince Charlie from J. Higgins. I contacted John to ask if there was any possibility of ordering an Argyle jacket in the lighter weight wool blend. He said yes, I said make me one. I received it a few months ago. I love it. Very comfortable in the heat and humidity. Another fine product from Higgins. Top quality workmanship!! Whenever people ask me where to buy a kilt of any other Scottish woolen product, I ALWAYS tell them, J. Higgins. Thank you John.

The construction and build of this jacket is very very good. The jacket fits very well and the wool fabric looks like it will maintain it’s fine appearance for a very long time. The jacket is comfortable to wear, does not bind up while holding my bagpipes and the sleeves do not ride up my arms while holding the chanter, which was very important to me. I would 100% buy this jacket again if I ever needed to. J Higgins also has the best customer service out there.

This is a beautiful jacket. The quality of material and construction is unbelievable for the price. I called with my measurements and Mr. Higgins suggested a size that fits perfectly. I've received many compliments on the jacket.

I don't know what it is about Higgins clothing products, but their stuff fits me perfectly, every time. I just replaced a ~20-year-old Higgins daywear jacket with another one, and once again, it fit me as if it had been tailored to my frame. Totally happy, once again!

This jacket has to be one of my most favorite items I have bought from this site. It fits super exceptionally well and gives off a lot of swagger! Best bang for your buck here! I would recommend that you call and order that way nothing gets confused and that you double check your measurements before ordering.
