Hose (Lewis)

Excellent pair of wide calf Lewis kilt hose. They look very good and accommodates my muscular calves (22”) without looking “spread” or thin. Glad I found Higgins and made this purchase!

I genuinely like these kilt hose. They are soft, and do not shrink substantially after washing and maintain their shape. My biggest complaint would be price. These hose are very thin - thinner than standard hose worn by pipe bands. For the money, I expected them these hose to be heavier. On a positive note, the turndown is not constricting on the leg, causing the usual blood flow problem to the feet associated with pipe band hose. Otherwise, great product. Just somewhat overpriced.

I have been getting cheaper "band" type hose but this time I sprang for wool and I immediately felt the difference. They are more comfortable, fit my feet better, less hot/stifling, and I believe they will last longer than my acrylic ones that kept getting holes in the toes.

These hose are VERY comfortable and are of great quality! I have been wearing them with my Utility Kilt with no flashes/garters and they stay up! I will continue to purchase them from J Higgins as they have the best price for House of Cheviot hose.

Fits like a glove! I wear a US men's shoe size 9, so I ordered M from the size chart. The foot fits perfectly from heel to toe, without any extra at the toes. When I fold the top down using the handy sewn top guide, the top is just the right distance below my knee. I have wide calves, and I can pull these hose u my leg, easy peasy. The wool/synthetic blend is very soft. I ordered burgundy, and the color is vibrant. So, the product is totally excellent. I shopped around, and J.Higgins has the best selection and price I could find in the US. I placed the order, and eight days later they were in my hands. If you have wide calves, you want these kilt hose!

I love these socks. They wear nice, fit well and the tops roll over perfectly to cover the fasteners of your flashes nicely without having to fold the fabric several times to get them to have a nice top breadth. There is a sewn top guide before the top design portion that makes a perfect line to set the flashes. I have tried other brands and have had to struggle to get the tops to fold nicely and evenly. JH has the best price on these hose as well, by far. While the best price is definitely here, I just wish they weren't so pricey overall, however these are good quality hose and my preferred brand.

This is my second pair of these Lewis kilt hose.I have been wearing a set for band for about 5-6 years and they have held up wonderfully. I just got a new set for my upcoming wedding. I have always had trouble finding hose that fit well as I have always had very muscular calf muscles. These are a larger garment that fit well but maintain their structure and don't fall down. If you have larger calves, you'll love these.

Just very nice, made of quality wool. The sizing was misleading for me. Normally an 11 or 11-1/2 shoe, so I got the large, but medium would be better in my case.
