Product Description
The Bannatyne hide pipe bag is also referred to as the Bannatyne Hybrid. It comes with tie in kit and watertrap. This bag has a synthetic inner liner and hide outer layer so no seasoning is necessary. The hide gives you the feel of a traditional hide bag.
The blowpipe and all three drones are fitted with rubber collars for easy installation. You tie in the chanter stock the traditional way with twine or a C clamp that is provided.
Available in small (9 x 24"), small extended (9.5 x 26.5") medium (10.5 x 26.5"), large (11.5 x 29"), and Willie McCallum size (10" x 27.5").
The small extended bag has the drones and blowpipe moved forward on the bag for more comfort.
Important Product Note: All bagpipe bags can develop mold and fungi with regular use if not cleaned and disinfected properly. This can lead to chronic inflammatory lung disease. Please take careful precautions to ensure your bag and blowpipe are cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis to prevent mold and fungi from developing.

Stocks are easy to install, I followed the tip on the instructions and used a dab of dish soap in the collars. Most difficult was the blowpipe stock and that was only due to the size. With a little bit of patience I got it in though. The bag holds its shape very well when deflated much like my old hide bag (something I was worried about). For reference I purchased the Willie McCallum size as it was closest to my previous bag size of extended medium. J Higgins has been my go to source for my piping needs for a couple years now and they provide excellent service and fast shipping, even with a holiday taking place.

Sorry this is long. I am not piping expert, but over the years I've used medium hide bags and synthetics. I was very hesitant about what bag.to get this time because the medium synthetics I got for moisture control felt like trying to play a tractor tire inner tube- slippery and huge. Always missed the feel of the hide bag and this is very close. Also, I took the plunge to try the Willie McCallum hybrid and I really like the position of the drones.. Great fit, very comfortable, could tell the difference in my top hand right off. Only issue, and it's minor, I had to work around getting the water trap system to work with my stock. Also, I checked video sources for fitting the bag. One video source instructs putting the rubber washer in the stock groove inside the bag and another suggested it should go on the outside. Maker package says inside so I did that along with taping and the provided clamp and it works perfectly. Remember to use a little soap or other slippery stuff or if you aren't a strong person, you might fight a while getting the stock through the collars. Higgins/Griffin patiently answered my questions and their shipping is phenomenal. Very, very pleased. I hope this helps anyone who might be as undecided.as I was about investing in a bag without the option to try it out first.

I’ve been learning how to the play the pipes since 1998. I have relied on J Higgins for everything from reeds to spats to now pipe bags. The selection is extensive and reasonably priced. Shipping is fast and safe . I did feel that I should have good a discount on my Bannantyne bag, Andy Ballantyne!

First, Higgins had the best price and the delivery was fast. Ordered on Monday and had it on Friday. My pipes came w/ another brand but our band all uses Bannatyne. Switched from Med to the Ext. Small for comfort. The videos I watched made the process look easy but it was over an hour. The hardest was removing the bottom stocks from the old bag. Love the hide feel and the ease of a synthetic inner. Worth the time and effort.

Over fifty years of piping and I've played them all. Sheepskin and other hide bags. Then the synthetic bags. Next synthetic hybrid. This Bannatyne bag with the Willie McCallum cut is outstanding.
The neck has the proper bend to it. I said playing on this bag it's like being reunited with an old friend. It will put a smile on your face. -

I recently purchased a Bannatyne "Willie McCallum" hybrid bag. I was very pleased with the ease of installation and I was up and playing within 30 minutes from unpacking. The best feature was J. Just wanted to say I received the bannatyne hybrid extended small. Thanks so much. I love it. Easy to set up. I wish i had done this sooner. It’s more comfortable than my other hybrid brand. I have the bannatyne in my B flat set up. I will eventually switch my pipe band set up to a bannatyne as well. Just a happy customer. What I love about J. Higgins is their quick shipping and delivery.
